Fountain Pen Translation is . . . well, it’s me, Terry Rugeley.
Translation combines not only my interests in languages and humanities, but also a lifetime of study, reading, research, writing, and travel.
I have an MA in US and British Literature and a PhD in Latin American history. For twenty-four years I was a professor of Mexican and Latin American history, until at last I decided to strike out on a new and independent path.
That’s why I created Fountain Pen Translations in 2019. The name reflects not only my own interest in fountain pens — long may they scratch the paper surface — but also a commitment to quality translation and prose. It’s a service for talented writers who wish to publish in English-language formats.
Through Fountain Pen Translations I offer my services as a translator with:
- Solid linguistic training in English, Spanish, and German
- Intensive knowledge of historical vocabularies and issues
- Extensive experience in many aspects of the publishing world. My books have appeared on nine different presses, and I can help authors prepare manuscripts ready for submission.
